I promised my kids I'd make a Hanukkah breakfast for dinner, but now it turns out we're having guests! Guests with little kids who would be forgiving, but I still want it to be nice.
Here's what I was thinking. Does this sound OK? Would you add something? If so, what? Smoked salmon eggs Benedicts on latkes Also plain latkes, plain scrambled eggs, and smoked salmon for people who don't want a Benedict homemade applesauce, sour cream Yogurt, home made granola, and fruit for make your own parfaits Sufganiyot |
| Sounds delicious! |
| Would you think it totally weird to go to someone's house for dinner and be served breakfast? |
| Breakfast for dinner is our favorite dinner, so I would be delighted. |
| I don’t think breakfast is weird, well maybe a bit, and I love breakfast, but I wouldn’t eat lox or yogurt. |
| As long as you have mimosas I’d be fine though. |
Then you could eat the donuts and latkes. |
Would you eat scrambled eggs and fruit and latkes and donuts? Would that be enough of a meal? We're far from kosher, but serving bacon for a Hanukkah party seems a step too far. I could maybe get some turkey sausage links. |
I would happily eat scrambled eggs, fruit and latkes. |
|
That sounds great, especially for families with little kids!
Even my picky kid would find something to eat, and the latkes and sufganiyot make it festive. |
| I would love this. Not weird. |
| That sounds WONDERFUL! |
| Perfect |
|
| Would you add a vegetable? I was going to wilt some spinach for the Benedicts, and make some varied latkes like potato leek or carrot zucchini, maybe let the kids make their own recipes. With a nice selection of fruit and applesauce is that enough healthy stuff? |
