Where to buy girls' bathing suit in NW DC?

Anonymous
My 12.5 year-old has grown 6" in the past year (from a girlish 4'10' to a womanish 5'4') so I guess it shouldn't be a shocker that none of her summer bathing suits fit. This includes her bikinis.

Her grandparents are visiting this weekend for an early Christmas and staying at a hotel with a pool. Where can I find her a new bathing suit without running out to Dick's in the 'burbs? We're in Chevy Chase DC. It doesn't appear that Target, Athleta, Lululemon or Bloomie's have things in stock in a women's XS... I'm a women's S/M and mine wouldn't fit or be appealing.

Maybe she can do running shorts and a sports bra? Might be easier to find in stores this time of year.

I don't understand this post. Dicks "in the burbs" in Wheaton is less than 10 minutes (I just put it in GPS) from Chevy Chase, DC. Athleta or Lululemon in Georgetown would take longer.

I just got some from Amazon.

Try Macy’s downtown. Call the Gap in Friendship Heights — but that’s a long shot. I’m not sure what options might be in Georgetown or Bethesda that would have them out of season. I’d probably do Amazon.
As long as it’s not awful, I wouldn’t worry too much about “appealing” — since there’s a good chance that it won’t fit next summer, so you’re basically buying it just for the weekend.

Thanks everyone- OP here. My kids go to school in Georgetown so that’s convenient. I no longer go to the Wheaten Costco/Dick’s due to high crime.

You are a complete idiot. You realize that the crime rates in Georgetown and downtown are FAR, FAR higher than those in Wheaton?
You are far more likely to get car-jacked on route or robbed at gunpoint, sitting at stop signs and lights on your way to Georgetown and/or getting out of your car to go to a store in DC than you are to have the same happen in Wheaton. I mean, I'm flabbergasted that you could be this dumb or racist. I guess you don't like Hispanic people.
I mean, read the crime stats. You're making stuff up that contradicts all the stats.

Surely, there's a Target you can go to.

Sports Fair in Arlington on Langston Blvd/Rt 29. It's a swim gear shop.

Surely, you read that she tried Target, and they have no stock in the size she needs.

Closed down. Nearly all of the shops in CC are under construction.

Amazon same day delivery.

Other than that Sport Fair in Arlington. Are you sure Dicks even carries swimsuits now? Sport Fair would definitely have something in her size.

maybe Everything but Water in Montgomery Mall? Expensive though.
