Go to recipe for when you need to bring a dessert to a dinner party?

Need something fancier than cookies or brownies.

Mrs. Smith's apple crumble pie. Just take from freezer, pop in oven and it's good to go. I've gotten compliments from formally trained chefs who can't believe it's store bought.

Not the right season for this, but I use this website a lot for baking and it's always, always reliably delicious. And I hope you're ignoring the Mrs. Smith's person. OMG

Rum cake or lemon cake - both in a bundt pan

A bundt cake. In the spring or summer, something like lemon blueberry or vanilla raspberry. In winter or fall, can do spiced pumpkin, mexican chocolate, orange olive oil, or gingerbread. Sprinkle a bit of powdered sugar on top, garnish with some fruit, herbs, or edible flowers, and you have a fairly easy, "elevated" dessert to bring.

I don't have one, because it depends on my mood and the host's preferences and menu. For Christmas, Hanukkah parties, I like to bring lime bars, modified from Sally's Baking Addiction website.

Fruit crisp/crumble with vanilla ice cream. I like strawberry/rhubarb, peach/blueberry, or apple.

Key Lime Pie is sooo easy. Follow the directions on back of the bottle. Bake for 15 minutes only.
I like to make my own graham cracker crust, but it is perfect every time with whipped cream and raspberry sauce (just puree frozen raspberries with some sugar).

Lemon in summer

Gingerbread in winter (grease pan with vegetable shortening and sprinkle with granulated sugar or this one will stick)

Same. Chocolate seems to be universally desirable at a dinner party.
