Breast Buds - what to wear to feel more comfortable?

| My just turned 9 year old is developing breast buds. She says it hurts. I’m not sure what she should be wearing at this stage. She’s in 3rd grade and I am worried that if I put her in a training bra it’ll show from underneath her clothes and she’ll get teased. She sometimes wears a cami/undershirt when it’s cold so should I just make her continue wearing those? Or is there something different that she can wear? I’m concerned about coverage as well as comfort. |

| Buy her a training bra in a neutral color so you can’t see it. |

It probably hurts bc of growing pains/hormones not bc she’s not well supported. But if it is a support issue, you could get her camisoles with shelf bra built in.
My DD does not have anything going on yet but she has friends who do and most of them wear camisoles. She asks to wear camisoles too. |

It can also be uncomfortable if there isn't a layer between clothing and the skin- hormones can make the nipples and skin really painful. My DD is in 3rd grade and goes to a school with a white shirt as the uniform. From Kindergarten, most girls wear camisoles underneath and she has some classmates who have switched to camisoles + one of those bleuet tops or similar. I know because moms have talked about it, not because I'm a creeper. |

| Training bras are commonly used in my 5th and 3rd graders’ circles. Definitely no teasing! Here are a few different options - Hanna Andersson, Yellowberry, Target, and Nordstrom had some good options. We have a variety in our house. One of my kids complained that the bras from Target didn’t breathe, but the other was fine with them. |

| This time of year, I would suggest an tanktop undershirt. She gets to be warm and it masks development a bit. |

| The coverage issue sounds like a you problem. As long as she isn’t wearing see through shirts, she is covered. |

| Lots of training bras are like short camis. For example try Gap. More comfortable than having a whole layer underneath |

| OP I am a PP and also want to note that on a whole kids seem much kinder to each other these days. I am always worried about my kids getting teased because of my childhood experiences and it really doesn’t happen as much, as least not yet (mine are still in elementary). |

A cami is fine.
Mine is in 5th now and wears sports bras. |
