Thinking of purchasing as stocking stuffers, but questioning if they are even that useful.
I thought about keeping them in cars to help locate a car in a parking lot. Putting on a keychain. Adding to checked luggage. Talk me in or out if this purchase. Thanks. |
| Luggage. If my kid was still young and losing things, I might stick one in the coat or backpack. But it’s worth the money for the airport. |
| I have one on my dog, one in my wallet, one on my keys, one on my spare keys. I'm going to get more! |
| I use one for my keys - and then when I travel, I bring it and use it for my luggage, and then for my rental car keys! Very useful and you can re use the same one for multiple uses like I do. |
| Any drawbacks people could speak to? |
| Love ours, keys, bikes, glasses cases, dog, wallet. Would get more if they weren't so much. |
They only work if in range of a phone to ping off. If you’re in a dense area, it’s great! If your dog escapes in a rural Airbnb with no cell service, you’re SOL. |
| I have one on my keys. Watch finds my phone, phone finds my keys, and I’m no longer scrambling in the mornings. |
Previous poster who has one for her keys and moves it aroudn to luggae etc - the price point, and the fact that you need to have something to hold it - I had to spend more to get a keychain holder for it. My friend also had one on her dog and had to get a new one with a special waterproof case because her dog likes to go into the water. |

How long do they last? Are batteries replaceable and affordable?
I see lots of options for holders for them on Amazon. |
| Let me say what it doesn’t work for - tracking children. We got one for our 11 year old to track him as he bikes to friends, runs to the store, etc, and it just doesn’t ping frequently enough to work. Seems like it works better for objects that are more stationary-y |
Exactly the same. I used mine all the time. I only with there was a reverse button to find my phone. |
I'm the wallet-keys-dog pp. I bought a four-pack of Airtags 10 months ago and three are going strong; one mysteriously lost its charge. Which gave me the chance to discover that they use the same kind of battery as a car key fob and I had a multipack of those on hand, so problem easily solved. |
| Are they ever on sale? |
Currently $80 for four on Amazon, which tends to discount them with some regularity. |
