Is MCPS biased

Why is MCPS suspending another teacher for social media posts criticizing Israel’s current actions and policies (falsely claiming they are antisemitic) when my Facebook feed is filled with teachers posting support for the continuation of the war and destruction of Gaza to eliminate Hamas?

Yes. That is why a message was sent about Israel and not other countries that have had similar things happen.

I don't know, but I do know that my child's teacher accidentally sent a transphobic and Islamophobic social media post to the entire class and does not appear to have faced any consequences.

I considered it, but he editing the link (he'd cut and pasted the wrong link into a Canvas update) before I could do a screen grab or capture the link. This is someone whose specific job means he's teaching a diverse group of kids, so it's particularly egregious.

I have something also that could get many in trouble, but it would single my child out as the “leak,” and I am concerned about retaliation

Are you saying that teachers should be suspended if they oppose Hamas, a terrorist organization? That is the position of the U.S. government, aside from the squad.

P.S. I haven't seen the post for which the teacher has been suspended, but I would decide for myself whether it's antisemitic and not judge by your assessment.

You are friends on FB with a large number of MCPS teachers who are filling your page by "calling for the destruction of Gaza"? Right.

Because the posts were antisemitic. Defending and justifying Hamas’s senseless and brutal killing of nearly 1500 civilians is despicable and cannot be excused or tolerated. If anything, MCPS’s reaction to the Israel-Hamas conflict has been too careful by “not trying to take sides” since silly woke politics dominate the McPS mindset. But anyone with a moral compass can and should speak out against cold-blooded murder - and the fact that you think it’s okay to try to excuse cold-blooded murder means you’re either projecting (trying to explain the horrific behavior because it must be justified) or just that you’re antisemitic. Either one isn’t okay.

FYI there were more posts than just the three linked here.

No. OP here. I am saying that nobody should be suspended for having an opinion on politics and humanitarianism. You can read what the teacher posted. It was not antisemitic. (I’m Jewish even). It was critical of Israel and of the Israeli war and practices.

But you can go back and say the whole conflict began with the theft of land to create Israel in the first place. The state is known to put children in jail without any charges for a renewable term (indefinitely effectively). My point is that choosing either is choosing a side that has done heinous things.

This is why land acknowledgements here in the US are so dangerous. They could lead to things like the murder of 1500 innocent civilians being defended as "justice."
