Coolidge and Roosevelt students "kidnapped" until they unlocked their phones

Anonymous
It would appear that school aged kids are behind kidnapping/detaining other school aged kids until they unlock their phones. They then release them.

Posting this here now as it appears to have been confirmed by police report and is not fake news.

I saw this in another thread. It’s incredibly scary. Crime is really exploding in our area.

This is crazy. And so brazen. How do these kids think this will all end up? You can't simply kidnap people. I think that even our City Council will find that unacceptable... Maybe.

These teens MUST be put in juvie. There needs to be a deterrent.

From reading the reports, there was a stolen vehicle and a gun involved.

Maybe the city should use license plate readers to solve crime rather than just red light tickets.

All of these criminals are repeat offenders. They need to be removed swiftly and immediately from society after the very first violent act, preferably to juvie.

Janeese Lewis George says we can't do that because it would "traumatize" them.

Thank goodness Mayor Bowser is in Dubai working on climate change.

I dont know if it was the case here, but forcing people to unlock their phones and then emptying their bank accounts is a new crime thing.

We need more electable, sensible on crime candidates who value public safety to run. W1 and W6 especially but all over the city.

Maybe new here. This has been a thing since the 80's in Latin America. It is an express kidnapping.

You get kidnapped and then released once you pay a manageable fine. Typically a few thousand dollars. People get kidnapping insurance just for this type of crime in Latin America.

Now we get to experience it in DC. Well, our kids do.
