| Tried Zoloft and Wellbutrin. Sweated like crazy each night on Zoloft. Stopped. I have been on Wellbutrin for 3 weeks and developed an itchy scalp, itchy back and now red pimply face! Not new skin products. The only change is this medication. What do I do? Keep trying other meds and mess my body up completely? Any luck with natural stuff? Maybe I should try CBD? But how do you function on it during the day? |
|
With the zoloft, did you try taking it at different times of day? I have to take it at night, just before bed because it makes me sleepy, a friend takes hers in the morning because it gives her vivid dreams. I wonder if changing up the time could change the night sweats?
Talk to your doctor and see if they can adjust the dose or suggest a different med. It takes a while to find the right one. You aren't "messing your body up completely"...it's a process to get where you need to be. Hang in there! (FWIW, the natural vitamins and supplements never did anything for me.) |
| Inositol is incredibly powerful and has real science behind it! |
| Have you tried exercise? A vigorous walk outside everyday? Weightlifting? Those can be as effective as antidepressants for some people, with only positive side effects! |
|
I had the same response to several antidepressants and wound up doing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and then out of that wound up changing my job, doing more exercise and journaling, and sticking to a schedule. Also drinking less alcohol (like almost none, I drink maybe once or twice a month at most) and setting better boundaries with my family.
I think this way is harder than drugs but also potentially longer lasting? You have to stay on top of it though. When I fall out of my routine I still get depressed, and when that happens I go back to therapy until I'm back on track. Good luck! Antidepressants don't work for everyone, a lot of people wind up in the same boat. So at least know you have good company. |
+1 Rigorous exercise and time outdoors are mood elevators and they will improve your sleep, which improves your mood. |
|
How depressed are you? Exercise and time outdoors and sleep are great but there are many people who do not have a real choice about using medication and it does in fact often take many tries to get the right one at the right dose.
I mean: years. Honestly I may be the wrong person to comment on this because the expectation that if one drug doesn't work that means welp, no drugs just seems so off-base to me based on experience. Good luck. |
| Stop drinking. Exercise - alot. Do CBT. And try Prozac. |
| 5-htp and l theanine help me a lot! |
| Vitamin D helped me a lot. |
| Theanine, vitamin d, and vitamin b helped me a lot. Magnesium, too, just don't take too much or it can upset your stomach. No side effects from the others. |
Magnesium Glycinate should not give stomach upset. |
Have you used this personally for depression? If so what dosage? How taken? Whats the science? TIA |
|
Cut the alcohol and caffeine
Increase the exercises and walks and water |
| How long have you been on it? After about two months the nights sweats significantly decreased for me. That said, I’m not sure it’s right for me either, so I get it. I’ve had success in the past with lifestyle changes, CBT, and l-theanine. |
