I have been on ozempic for several months and I can't tell if it is just a coincidence but my arm skin has gotten noticeably more creepy and loose. I am 56 and I have maybe lost 18 pounds on ozempic. Just curious if anyone has heard of this or if it is just aging |
Totally normal thing to happen if you're 50+ and experiencing rapid weight loss. |
I've lost 35 lbs on Ozempic and definitely have that. There is no question that being overweight does fill out wrinkles but on balance I'll take a little crepey skin over being overweight. It's not ozempic, it's just weight loss generally, especially over 50 when your skin isn't as elastic. I am paying attention to my face though, and so far haven't seen too much of a negative impact on my face. |
This is the answer. It’s not the medication. |
If you just noticed, I’d think this is some combination of your age, the weight loss, but also that winter coolness has quickly moved in. I often feel that my skin looks creepier when it’s dry out, so some heavy lotion might also help. |
I lost 30 pounds with semaglutide and noticed this. I started morpheus8 for loose skin. Ive done 2 out of 3 sessions and feel like its helped a lot. painful but worth it |
I need this--what body part and how much? |
You are losing lots of muscle along with the fat, that's the problem. Start doing serious weight-lifting--not so much for the look of it, but to stave off frailty. |
It's rapid weight loss at 50+, plus what happens to all of us at 50+ where we start to lose collagen at a more rapid rate. There is nothing that can be done about it at least not anything that's going to make a big difference. For me for example I'm 58, not overweight, I lift weights, and my skin is creepy. I also have very "thin skin" which doesn't help! |
It's technically crepey, not creepy. Although I will agree that crepey skin can be kind of creepy. |
People that only use Ozempic for weight loss look terrible. You are eating so little that you are losing muscle at almost the same rate as fat. You need to prioritize protein in your diet and choose some type of strength training |
Doesn’t really matter. You can’t build muscle if you are in a calorie deficit |
First, try weight training, and if that doesn't work and it bothers you, the only thing that will fix it is an arm lift, which will leave a scare The other options will not produce meaningful results, and you'll regret wasting your money on them. |
You posted this in the Ozempic Facebook group, correct? It’s just aging and weight loss. |
Fake news. Especially for a newbie that just started lifting. I have lost 24 lbs while all of my lifts have increased weight |
