B-CC/MCPS Beach Week

Have people started booking houses for “beach week”? My DD has mentioned wanting to do a house with her friends but hasn’t asked me to book anything. I am also concerned about dates because we don’t know when graduation is. We have only one kid so no past experience with this. When do people usually book houses? How do they know the date? Any insight is appreciated!

Let you DD stay in a hotel with one friend. They can go to parties at other people’s houses.

OP, your child is about to be a high school graduate. Let her figure out the arrangements, subject to your approval. Ideally, let her figure out AND PAY FOR the arrangements.

Are you the same parent asking about ski week? These questions really are better posed to the BCC list serve if you want to get actual information and answers.

Beach Week is not an MCPS sanctioned event. So there aren't OFFICIAL dates. Just want the group of permissive parents who enable alcohol, drugs and misbehavior for their teens in an unsupervised beach house getting together and depositing their points in the "cool parent" bank. You're gonna have to ask around with other parents at B-CC who are funding and sponsoring their kids' Beach Week venture, but again, it is NOT an MCPS sanctioned or organized event.

This! Why all of the BCC-specific questions on this forum all of a sudden? Ask on the BCC listserv! Or, in this case, why not ask a general question about beach week rentals?

No, I’m not. I was hoping that by posting here I’d reach more parents with older kids who have done this in the past, as well as get insight from parents of kids at other MCPS schools as to if they’d booked yet.
