Nope.
Couric thought is was a mostly good town hall.

I love all the MAGA insults about the Harris townhall performance when Trump declined to participate! Also, if she’s that bad, why doesn’t he participate in an event with her again? What’s he afraid of?

Exactly. FOX no doubt regrets giving her the platform. Baier’s only goal was to rattle her and use the footage for quick clips and memes, to use in commercials and on sm. I think it backfired and MAGAs are out in force trying to mitigate the damage. The interview had double the viewers Trump’s fox town-hall did. That in itself is a big contrast. People want to see her, they are tired of him.

And Baier acknowledged the fact that Trump was the one who refused to agree to the Fox POTUS debate. Trump and his team are now scared of exposing his declining mental state in an unscripted public display. Remember when Biden turned down the Super Bowl interview earlier this year. No competent politician would ever surrender that opportunity for exposure on friendly turf. The same goes for Trump turning down a debate on friendly turf. It's Biden 2.0 all over again. Don't buy what Trump is selling. He is just as unfit as Biden is.

Harris team never accepted the debate. Bret Baier was just guessing she would do it.

Oh, umkay. Bottom line is that Trump turned down that debate because just like Biden and every other human being lucky enough to live 80 years, their bad days start to outnumber their good days and that's why 80 year olds were never thought of as our best options for POTUS until you all recently went bat poop crazy. Think before you vote for someone to be the most powerful person in the world! 78 years old- bad idea!

At it again? No other talking points to repeat ad nauseam?

The PP has got to be the most tiresome poster on this forum.

She is such an idiot. Good for Anderson Cooper for making her answer the question - why did you think Trump's border wall was 'stupid,' yet you're now pledging to build a wall. She never answered the question.

She has a nervous laugh which detracts from her presentation. I didn’t love Hillary but at least she had gravitas and a presidential demeanor.

She isn't the idiot. The Democrats supporting her are.

Trump- BORDER WALL
Democrats RACIST!

Kamala- BORDER WALL + JOY
Democrats - APPLAUSE

And she has now declined to participate on Joe Rogan, correct?

Wow, I am not one for being overly critical of interview responses because humans don't always give perfect responses, even smart and seasoned politicians. But that one was brutal. No clue how she was not prepared for that. Such an easy answer for her to say that she does not believe a wall is the best approach but that she is willing to compromise to get the problem fixed. Instead, she did several bad things: (1) she said Trump took a picture in front of the wall Obama built, essentially saying Obama was stupid for building a wall; (2) she essentially called the wall a "good idea," after calling the wall stupid over and over; and (3) she said we just need to fix the problem because people must only be allowed to come in through a legal process, yet her current administration did the exact opposite. Brutal.

This is why she is struggling. Her answer here shows such a lack of preparation and perhaps betrays deeper problems.

Let’s knock out the easy part: she should have been 100% prepared for this question, but she was not and that is her fault.

Let’s tackle the deeper part. Her substantive answer was awful. “I know [small business owners] need the overhead money [word salad] that benefits their growth.”

A KH supporter could listen to this and say: “look, she’s just terrible at on the spot interviews and gotcha questions.” And I say fair enough. Reasonable minds can disagree.

But a reasonable observer could also listen to that and conclude she is incompetent, incurious and just unsuited for the job. Her answer doesn’t even make sense. Tax cuts for small business owners overhead to grow?!?!?!?!?! She’s like a high school student called on by the teacher using buzz words hoping it is enough to get through the situation. The high schooler is basically treating the teacher like the teacher is stupid and we’ll all politely go along with the fiction so that the student is not embarrassed.

There are areas beyond my own expertise where if I were attempting to sound smart I would come off like an idiot. The answer is either to get smart or don’t sound off. And I am not running for president. Ignoring the Trump issue for a second, anybody who does understand small business (or any business) leaves that conversation thinking to themselves she’s is unqualified. To be fair, other politicians can completely sound out of their league or betray their lack of understanding (Liz Warren a few years ago talking about stock splits/buybacks in front of corporate executives stands out in my mind), but there is a difference between being wrong (Warren) and being unprepared but thinking the rest of us are stupid enough to buy your BS (KH).

And that’s before we even get to the point that she’s basically conceding the Republican ground on the essence of the question. She just admitted that taxes impact business growth (at least at the small business level).

Once again, evaluating her in a vacuum and not relative to Trump, I am starting to struggle to understand how this individual got within a heartbeat of the Presidency and may yet ascend to the office. I understand that she’s the nominee due to a unique set of circumstances, but I also understand why she isn’t generating enthusiasm.

Yes, Trump is a fascist, Vance is weird, but Harris is a poser and who knows what TW really is beyond goofy.

How is it that these are our best options?

Neither candidate ever answers a damn question. Ever. I hate the political speak everyone resorts to. Trump...at times.... Says a basic answer and I think that is why so many like him...even if they disagree with the answer. Problem is...he is dancing and talking about penis size now and has gone off the deep end so this is our choice.

I just watched the undecided voter panel after the CNN town hall, and now I understand why the MAGAs are spinning so hard on this. Every one of them said they were really impressed by her, and a number of them said they were now voting for Harris. The MAGAs don't want you to see this and instead just want to drive a media narrative.

+1 non affiliated voters are breaking for Harris, too, and that’s with all the sanewashing and work the media like CNN are doing to benefit Trump. https://www.inquirer.com/politics/election/kamala-harris-cnn-town-hall-undecided-voters-20241024.html
