Closer than I expected, well done to GC. Gonzaga shouldn't look past them this Sunday. Totally could see a WCAC favorite (SJC, Gonzaga, PVI) getting knocked out of the WCAC tourney in May by Dematha, Heights, Good Counsel. It's one and done, not likely but anything can happen.

Lol. St. John’s sat some starters today.

Yes, Jackie weller and dunkle were not playing I believe.

Are they difference makers?

Well… Number one recruit in the entire 2024 class and a Top 3 nationally ranked fogo

excuses by the Cadet faithful.

Prep would run them off the field this year when you look at their body of work.

St. John’s best win vs BL - haven’t lost to local team
Prep best win vs Blakefield - lost to local team - STM

Hypothetical games crack me up. Body of work. Lol

NP. Seems to me the SJC dads are the ones throughout this thread desperate to hold on to last year's success. The world knows they are a very different team this year after having lost over 20 seniors last year. This Friday will determine their standing in the WCAC and there are definitely no guarantees as both teams are fairly evenly matched.

Seems they are both inconsistent. Evenly matched? Not so sure. St. John’s has an advantage at the X and in the goal. Not sure that will translate to them winning.

SJC also has an advantage in the HC in all WCAC and IAC games

i think Bellistri is the best coach in the area.

Wes has an endless budget and has an administration that will waive tuition for families they aggressively want to enroll.

He was a nobody in the college ranks, remember that.

Both teams have been inconsistent and could either win or lose this game. It will come down to who plays well and has their best game.

Bellistri probably has the best body of work of active coaches.

The SJC and Speaks comments seem over the top.

SJC waiving tuition? Seems fairly hearsay.

Speaks was still a young successful college assistant who seems to have chosen the more stable high school coaching avenue. Since at SJC, all they've done is get better, including the historic 2022.

And this year, regardless of the impossible to settle Prep/SJC debate, they are having a successful season following a perfect one - which is hard to do. They might still stumble in the WCAC, but hard to hate on the year they're having right now.

Lost your case at “waive tuition” . Was Bellistri ever a college coach or has he spent his coaching career at the easier IAC HS level?

Not sure why the poster above decided to belittle Coach Speaks college coaching experience but here we go. Took some money to bribe the admin to keep him around.

Dear Bullis Lacrosse Players and Families,

I hope this email finds each of you doing well and enjoying your summer. As members of the lacrosse program, I am writing to inform you that we have made a decision to make a change regarding our head varsity boys lacrosse coach.

Over the last several weeks, an administrative committee has been reviewing the future of our lacrosse program. This decision was not taken lightly, and we believe this is in the best interest of the Bullis lacrosse program. While we have received national recognition over the past decade and won two IAC championships, we are looking at the future of the program and believe this change provides our student-athletes with the best opportunity to prepare them for the future at Bullis and beyond. As with all of our athletic programs, wins and losses are only one aspect of how we measure success.

We want to thank Coach Bellistri for serving nearly two decades as both an assistant and head coach in the middle and upper school. We look forward to having Coach Bellistri remain part of the Bullis community as a member of our math department faculty.

As we move forward, we are working to appoint an interim head coach in the near future. As with any changes, I understand that there may be some questions. Please feel free to contact me.

With your support, we look forward to the bright future of the boys lacrosse program.

Kind Regards,

Andres Parra
Director of Boys Athletics
