A gym with this name opened near me. I looked at the website and it’s a bit confusing. Is it like CrossFit?
Thinking of doing a free trial but since I can usually only go to classes out of the house 1x per week I prefer gyms that allow drop ins or punch cards to an expensive monthly membership so any information on plans would be awesome. Thanks in advance |
Hah. I saw the sign from the streetlight and asked DH what it was? No idea. But, now I know! After taking a quick look at their website they offer a 7 day trial for only $7. |
It basically competes with Orange Theory. Same type of individual would go to both or either. They're all over the place where I live (CA). |
It’s a circuit type workout. Mark wahlberg is a partner. They’ve been opening one in Springfield for months now and there are two more set to open in lorton and Burke. |
I think they offer 4x or 8x times a month options. |
It’s got more variety in classes than OTF. Circuit training, as another PP noted. I enjoyed it in the Before Times - if you like group classes and want a mix of exercises, I think it’s great. |
I had thought it was more of a competitor to cross fit? |
PP directly above you: think of it as the offspring of CrossFit (Lite) and OTF. It’s nowhere near as intense as CrossFit. There are minimal free weights and zero barbells. The intervals are on time, not number of reps (unless it’s changed drastically). It was always a solid workout and I never felt in danger of injuring myself. The instructors were friendly. |
Ok this sounds up my alley. Thank you! |
OP here - that would be perfect. I know I can do a trial and ask these questions but I feel bad doing that if I know I won’t join because you can only do an unlimited membership for $300 plus a month |
Any estimate on price? Especially for a 4x or 8x per month plan like mentioned here |
I was told 118/month for 8x. |
The one in Old Town sucks but I heard the one in Shirlington is great. I think it depends on the owners/coaches. |
