Queen of Versailles

This is crazy. Anyone else watching? It must be old but it popped up on my Hulu account.

He is another Trump: money hungry and beauty Queen obsessed. He admits he did something illegal to get Bush elected.

She seems like a nice person but the hoarding and compulsive shopping is wild.

They are so out of touch and somehow think they’re good people despite getting filthy rich by selling timeshares to middle class people. They think their fall from extraordinary wealth is the banks fault - that they’re just victims of banks.

You’re late to the party, OP. This doc was made over a decade ago.

Here’s a thread from 2015. Already a lot had changed:

oh yeah, I watched this years ago. Like PP said, it's an old documentary.

Now I feel even more disgust thinking about them. When this documentary came out, I was still very much a brainwashed, early twenties "moderate liberal" who was mind-trained to not "judge" people, and also support capitalism.

Now, as a radical anarchist in her thirties, I literally puke at the memory of this documentary. That woman and her husband were parasites who deserved the guillotine.

Thanks for the link. I searched but somehow didn’t catch it.

So sad about Victoria. She had a better sense about people and relationships than the adults did- she defended her mom and flat out said he didn’t act like he loved her. She was right.

Anyway, it popped up on Hulu for me so maybe others are seeing it for the first time too.

ugh, same. I used to semi-enjoy these trashy rich people when I was younger. Including the Real Housewives.
