| It was not what I thought it was. Ugh. Florida. I always feel like everyone is smarmy and trying to run a scam or cover debt. This proves it. |
| What did you think it was? |
| I saw that a few years back and am still not over all the dog sh!t I saw all over the floors. How anyone can have wealth yet allow animals to defecate indoors I will never understand. |
Not over it either, and I am a BIG dog person. I also couldn't really get past the husband talking about the trophy wife being a "collector" and her major revelation as a mom that if you have money, you can basically collect kids like designer bags and never have to raise them. I am not anti-nanny in the least, but the way she talks about those kids? They're equal or lesser than those shitting dogs. One kid even died and she was like, the last to know. |
I’m curious, too. The film has been around a long time. It was made in 2012. A little late to the party, OP? |
| I remember watching it several years ago. It just all seems so sad to me. I did hear within the last month or so somewhere that the female subject has been trying to get on one of the housewives shows on bravo unsuccessfully for years, so maybe she is back in the spotlight or attempting to? |
On June 6, 2015, their oldest daughter, Victoria Siegel, 18, died of an overdose of methadone and antidepressants. |
| I found it (and her) fascinating and watched it twice, although it has been a few years. |

Thread from 2015 (I forgot about the Wife Swap episode, haven't seen it, should probably track it down):

I also recommend “ I almost got away with it” about criminals evading the law/on the lamb. They almost ALL go to Florida! |
| Fascinating movie. Very sad about the daughter who died. |
| I remember the mom showed up on an episode of Below Deck a few years ago. She seems like a real mess. |
| I know them in real life. They are as horrible as they appear in the movie. Truly awful people. |
|
She was on Below Deck a couple of seasons ago and is on an episode coming up this season.
She also was on Jeff Lewis's spinoff he had. She definitely has angled for a Bravo spot. |

I may have found her polarizing & tacky when I watched The Queen of Versailles, but this article about her daughter dying is heartbreaking. This article is the most real I've seen her. The husband, David, stepped away from being the CEO of his company, in order to get involved in the fight against opioids... since his daughter's death, he's raised millions of dollars. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/queen-versailles-family-turns-attention-opioid-crisis-daughters/story?id=61607277 |
