My Husband and i just found out that he has low sperm count and motility, are there any medications/supplements that can help? I'm adamantly opposed to doing anything unnatural like IVF or even artificial insemination, it has to happen on it's own or I feel it's not meant to be.

Wow. Unnatural like ivf or artificial insemination?
I was going to write more but I think you are a troll and won't feed you.

OP here, I'm simply looking for some natural remedies, isn't there anything that can improve sperm counts beyond boxers?

My husband also had low motility. He started taking a multi-vitamin and his numbers improved but not dramatically. It took two IVF cycles for us to get pregnant. Good luck to you.

OP, this is supposed to be a supportive/friendly board. It's one thing if you're looking for natural remedies, but you might want to refrain from zinging everyone else for trying those "artificial" methods you've dismissed for yourself.

I've heard lycopene can help.

when we did IUI's my DH used vitamin c, l-arginine, pine bark and fertili-aid-- it seemed to really help

proceptin

But are supplements considered artificial? He should really just boost those nutrients/antioxidants through his diet alone...

My husband was on every imaginable supplement they recommend to improve sperm, but his sperm test results didn't change much. Although we did get pregnant a 1.5 ago when he was on Fertiliaid, the pregnancy ended in miscarriage. We've been trying ever since and nothing. Now I am going through a natural cycle IVF at Dominion (and I also said to myself at the beginning it should be a natural conception or nothing, but in the end the desire to have a biological child prevailed).

Other supplements to try - Proxeed, ConceptionRX, Fertility Blend. Also, send your husband to urologist to check for varicocele.

If you wanted to ask about natural remedies, how about this for a question: Does anyone know of any natural remedies to boost sperm count such as vitamins or herbs? Saying what you said on this board is insensitive and rude to the people on here. Why don't you try to the "natural" remedy of looking for another husband with a better sperm count.

Ignore the bitter, rude posters OP. You are entitled to state your opinions here. Good luck!

Ditto the PP on seeing a urologist. You may also want to explore reading about acupuncture and some holistic approaches. Lots of information on the internet about natural ways to supplement sperm count. And you might check some of the infertility chat boards at places like RESOLVE for those who have gone before you. Also look for some simple tips like stop riding a bike (if he does), or getting a better bike seat, no hot tub or even hot baths, etc. You'll find lots of things to try.

Taking medications would be unnatural too with your logic.

I am going to defend the OP here a second. I don't think she's a troll, she's just at the beginning of learning what she can control and what she can't. She used a word, "unnatural" , which infortunately, to many of us who are sensitive to our situation, isn't the best choice. While it may be up to us who have been at this a while to aske to not denegrate getting assistance by IVF or IUI, we could do it without being snarky. Seriously.

I'm 20:43 and certainly didn't intend to be "snarky," nor am I bitter or rude. Simply thought it would be worth pointing out that she might want to refrain from (unintentionally?) insulting people she's seeking advice from. Perhaps I misinterpreted the original post. At any rate, good luck to everyone.
