My son is about to submit his William & Mary application with standardized test scores. When you click view pdf of the completed application it says at the top:
William & Mary does not include test scores; Full SSN or race as part of the PDF. He has clicked “yes” in both common app and WM’s app that he is submitting ACT scores. The pdf completed only shows his AP exam scores and not his ACT scores. No other application he’s submitted with test scores has not shown them in the pdf/completed app. WM is not test blind. Where are the AO’s getting copies of them if they are keeping them “blind” and out of the pdf ? |
| You order the test scores directly and they see them that way. |
|
Are you the one with the kid with the A-minus
You need to power down the chopper and let your kid handle things. |
DP. WM does not require official results until enrolled. They allow for self-reporting. Even Boston College which requires official scores shows the self-reported ones in PDF. Strange. |
| Perhaps allow W&M to manage their own process. |
| you people are crazy. she is asking a question about how the nuts and bolts of applying works. she's trouble shooting. if you don't know the answer to this very specific question, move along. |
| after you submit, you can report your scores in their portal. |
This is beyond the “nuts and bolts of applying” as their child has already applied and OP is asking about how things work in the Admissions end. |
| My DC had to input scores into several school portals directly once she received the log in information. This was not W&M, but a few other schools. |
| I don’t know about W and M but I’ve wondered about other schools. It must be something to do with their review process and when they see scores. Maybe they review everyone without scores first? |
What I *suspect* (but I'm not in admissions, so I don't know) is that the school suppresses scores on the Common App (same way it suppresses the question about race). |
|
Some schools want to get the scores directly from College Board. They just want to know the scores are accurately reported.
Nothing more to it then that. |
| I thought this was normal for Common App not to show the scores in the PDF? |
Here is the explanation on Harvard’s website (the Common Apps explanation link from the FAQ is broken): “Since Harvard College is not requiring applicants to submit standardized test scores for the 2022-2026 application cycles, your standardized scores will not display in the Common Application PDF preview, even if you have chosen to submit them. However, if you entered your test score information and would like it to be considered, that data will still be transmitted to us with your application and we will review it. You can verify this by viewing the Application Checklist in your Applicant Portal. You will see a green check mark if we have received your standardized test scores.” |
I’m OP. No. Every application my kid submitted so far, the scores showed in the PDF. This is why he asked me and showed me since WM’s app did not. He did not submit yet. It’s not that deep. No ulterior motives. Just a ? Thanks to all the normal people that actually answered my question. It was helpful. |
