This question is just for Jews and people who are familiar with and support Israel generally. Don’t reply if you don’t fit that description please.
Would you travel to northern Israel in Spring 2024? March-June timeframe. Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Masada/Dead Sea, maybe Petra. |
| No. Probably not for several years. |
I opened it to respond because I've lived there and spent a lot of time there for work. I'm not jewish though, so I won't give you any advice. |
“…and people who are familiar with and support Israel generally.” You didn’t even bother to read the whole post. NP. OP, I would not make non-refundable plans to go in the spring. |
| Only if I had family there and they were telling me it was safe to come. If I was just touring, I would skip. |
The post is off-putting. You don't need to be a supporter of Israeli politics or Jewish to answer a travel question. |
Also, only an idiot would even ask this question. You can't even fly there on most airlines currently. What does the OP think is going to change in a few months? |
|
No not in 2024. I do not want to subject my kids to air raids and running to bomb shelters. The country will be on full war footing for the next year, minimum.
But we've talked about doing spring break week in Israel once our kids are a bit older. Great weather that time of year, very family friendly. Will probably reassess in a couple years. -Interfaith family |
| I would not this year. I've already had 2 sets of friends cancel their spring plans, which at this point is the right choice. |
| Petra is in Jordan. |
This |
| Petra is in Jordan. I live in Jordan. It's very likely it will be fine here. You can also visit the Dead Sea from this side. |
And no, I would be extremely reticent to go to Israel in the near future. You can't even fly in/out for the most part. |
| I would travel to petra separately. I'd wait on Isreal. |
| Is the Jordan-Israel border even open for passage to tourists right now? |
