Apparently CH police are clashing now with 100+ protesters in the area of the DNC. Anyone out and around and know what’s going on?

There is a ton of video on X and Mastodon. Pro-Palestinian protesters supporting a ceasefire blocked all the entrances to the DNC offices while member of Congress were inside. The Police are pulling them away, sometimes violently.

Seems like this group is keeping with the Hamas way of doing things - taking hostages.

Why the DNC? Do they expect better treatment of Palestine and Muslims by Republicans?? Honest question, because I would have expected the opposite

The Rs are historically staunch supporters of Isreal and always have been. There's no "changing their mind".
The Dems....well, they pander to whatever vocal group is beating a drum and are easily swayed . The protesters think they can "convince" and threatened them.
Plus, Muslims/pro Palestinian are now a much larger base than Jews, at least in a lot of areas, so they're switching sides.
