How bad will traffic in DC be today? DH works down by the FBI building. Has to be in today. Will it be horrible getting there and getting home tonight?

I see why now.

I don’t think anyone knows but street closures are Extensive. At a minimum he should budget extra time.

Curious why he can’t metro. Even if he is just avoiding the downtown core that might be worth it.

Op - we don’t live close enough to a metro to make it worth it. It would add 30-40 mins on both sides of his trip. So unless traffic adds over an hour to his trip it is still more worthwhile to drive (I think).

Traffic is predicted to be horrible. Even extra time for metro is probably worth it.

He should have different options for trip home and avoid the most crowded areas. May be a good day to work late.

In my expereince from working downtown and marches - by the end of the day it is fine.

Also - as long as he is already on his way - he will be fine. There are a bunch of charter buses coming in - but if he typically commutes in - he knows the tricks for where to turn when he sees traffic backing up.
