Do Federal Aetna or Cigna plan provide coverage for infertility/IVF in 2024

Anonymous
Heard about the Federal Blue Cross has upt o $25000 on infertility treatment in 2024. Does any other Federal insurance plan offer infertility treatment coverage in 2024, too?
I am considering switch to Aetna or Cigna, but I would love to have the infertility treatment coverage, too. Look forward to your input. Thanks

Won't even pay for 1 cycle

If you are eligible, the Foreign Service Benefit Plan has good IVF coverage in 2024, I think it might actually be unlimited if you are medically qualified. Foreign Service Benefit Plan is actually open to to Civil Servants who work in certain parts of many agencies. For instance, Treasury employees who work in the Office of International Affairs are eligible. It also has cheaper premiums than plans with similar benefits.

This is not true. I had a $25,000 benefit and only used $10,000 of it with a retrieval and 3 transfers. If they are in network insurance companies pay a negotiated rate which is typically much lower than the list price. It will also depend on whether or not medication is included in the limit. Medication is often more expensive if bought through insurance, mine was billed to insurance for about $14,000 and for some reason it did not count against my IVF limit. A good financial counsellor at a clinic can help you work through all of this, if you are lucky enough to find one.
