Winter Camps: CapStone (Falls Church), MV (Tysons), or HP Elite (Chantilly)

Selecting a winter camp for our kids. Looking for feedback from parents who have used these three.

Capstone in Falls Church.
MV in Tysons (Tyco Road).
HP Elite in Chantilly.

The good. The bad. Is it worth it?

What do you mean by a camp? Do they offer holiday camps or is this a seasonal training program? (I ask because we may be interested - but wish there was something closer to DC).

We've used both Capstone and MV for training. (would rec both!) Are the camps you are looking at outdoors or in their training facilities?

Capstone has a good track record and trains the high level Arlington soccer players. But we've also attended a camp that was more for rec players. The coaches are all great with kids.

HP Elite. Other two options are fine, but HP Elite training is way better IMHO. Another option for you would be Futstars Academy. Believe that's in Herndon.

OP here. Indoor for the winter season. With fall season over we're looking for camps now until spring. Thanks for the feedback.

OP here. I like that HP Elite is an actual indoor field versus turf in retail spaces. Wha makes HP Elite better if you can share? The only downside is this place is a solid 25 minute drive for me without traffic and the camps are on Mon, Wed, and Fri late afternoon. But, if it's worth it we'd consider.

Meh on Futstars. Probably good/competitive for younger ages but not many players for the U13+ age groups

I was just looking for an HP Elite alternative. Been doing it for a few years and while I personally like it my youngest son (u11) said it has gotten boring. We attended a futstars session and my son enjoyed it. From what I could tell the Futstars was training a specific group of players with a coach, sort of like a team training, while HP Elite was more about repetitive skills and building muscle memory on skills etc. Both I would say serve a purpose depending on what you looking for. Futstars will be outdoor vs HP Elite indoor. My son said most players from Futstars were from Arlington. HPE seemed mixed.

With HP being all the way near the expo it makes sense there's a mix of players from Alexandria, Arlington, McLean, Vienna, etc. The best thing about HP is it's indoors. Training in the winter cold can be brutal and I feel most kids train and learn better indoors versus 20-40 degree weather.

Or your kid could play another sport in the winter and not have the repetitive injury issue that about 30-40% of the kids have later. It also might make them love soccer more being away.

We tried capstone but they are so full they are running waitlists for sessions. Any other good winter options especially for Arlington travel players?

Capstone is good because it's in NOVA. Even if the highways are backed up you can take back roads. It's the most convenient. Their downside is lack of space, small rooms, and your kid (who plays travel) can end up in a group with rec players which messes up the training.

CAPSTONE is expensive... I'd hate to see REC players in there.

We just started a session with MV and my daughter is really enjoying it. She has done capstone too and it was good (but crowded).
