Has anyone done this? I planned to this year but it is sold out. Worth doing in the future? |
My daughter and her friend do it every year. They love it. Friends mom takes them and I’ve never been. She seems to love it too. |
Did it once before kids, so over 21 years ago! Was very fun, I remember it being very windy when crossing the bridge, and it felt like a very cool thing to do |
I did it twice in the late 90s. Very fun! |
I did it yesterday and really enjoyed it! The views are beautiful from the bridge and I found the event to be well organized. However, note that you do start on the west side and finish on the east side and then have to be bussed back to your satellite parking lot (there are a few different ones). So, that does add some time and hassle to the morning. Also, it was chilly and windy up there. But overall fun event! |
It seems REALLY hard to run up that bridge and then down the bridge. |
Yeah, the first two miles were tough but it’s a run/walk event so just walked when I needed to and picked up my pace when it flattened out. |
No, but I swam it. |
Yes, I've done it more than once. It is incredible!! A very unique experience. You just need to come with patience. You get bussed to the start line and then you get bussed back to the parking lot across the bridge. But that is slow because all traffic is of course diverted to the one open bridge. |
I did it in 2021. Warning--running on pavement up that bridge and then down it can be really hard on your legs. I ended up getting piriformis syndrome after and had to take it easy. But, it's a pretty run and I would say once you're up the bridge, it's downhill from there and the rest of the course is flat and nice (minus a smaller hill toward the end) |
My husband goes most years and encourages others to do so. I refuse because the heights scare me, but he really enjoys it |
