Would your child be able to attend a venue party in the evening on December 28, 2023?
We have family obligations the two weekends prior and the 30th could work but I know people travel that weekend. We also have another family birthday the second weekend of January we are seeking to avoid conflicting with if we move into January territory. I’d love to see if families would attend or not during that week of the 24th-30th. |
Does the venue have minimum attendance, or are you being charged up-front for minimum attendance? That's what would make me nervous. Personally I'm home and would LOVE to have an event that week for my kids. But I don't know how typical I am in refusing to travel during Xmas and New Year's.

No - we are usually traveling to see family until closer to NYE. Usually return home the 30th or 31st.
My DD has a Dec 29th birthday and we always do the 1st or 2nd weekend of January for her party. (Assuming first weekend is after school begins again.) |
Maybe you can offer to drive any kids whose parents are working?
No, we'll be out of the country.
We would.
Honestly, if you live in a school district/area where people are poor or LMC, sure plan your party. If this is a private school or even public with UMC, nobody will be around to attend and plan to have your party the weekend of January 6th.
This year we would not, we are traveling.
Yeah we would be able to but we don't travel for Christmas and I know a lot of people do
This is my kids bday and we always just have the party in mid-january.
This is a very bad date. You could try. We would not be able to make it. Isn’t this the busiest peak travel week of the year?
We could, but we typically don't travel over Christmas and New Year's.
Oh hell no
No. Really bad idea OP, unless you and DC are content to keep this very small.
Yes.
