Dividing perennials is normal and one ALWAYS, ALWAYS needs more plants.

But a pair of Felco secateurs is a good idea with a gift receipt.

No, this is like buying someone furniture.

I’m an avid Gardner. Here’s what I would love:

A good gardening book.
A Melnor blue-tooth water timer
A monthly bulb subscription
Amaryllis in wax
A Create Academy gift certificate for an online gardening or flower arranging course
A dried flower press
A flower frog

A Hori Hori garden knife. Great for weeds, woody stems, and roots.

May I ask about the amaryllis in wax? (Not the OP, BTW). I have seen these recently and wondered about them. Will they really bloom? Can you keep them for years? I bought amaryllis and potted them as gifts last year— thinking of doing the same this year. Are the wax ones preferable in some way? Thanks.

Wax Amaryllis require no care. Just sit them in sunlight. I don’t believe they’ll bloom again. I’ve had potted Amaryllis in the past and I prefer the ease of the waxed bulb.

What do you use the flower press for? I'm intrigued but am unsure what it is used for.

To preserve flowers for art.

‘I don’t need more plants’. Said no gardener. Ever.

Agree with the Felco recommendation. If they’re in the DMV, a GC to some of the local natives nurseries.

I go through garden gloves seasonally, so I'm always happy to get new ones.
I like unique vases for my flowers.
Nice bottles to store home dried herbs.
"The latest tool" that we hate to splurge on for ourselves.
Interesting seed variety to experiment with next season.
May sound silly, but I recently got a 'garden shirt' from Duluth trading and it is quite useful! I'm surprised how much I've come to rely on it.
