Please help me be creative about what dish to bring. The call for the dinner party is to bring food that reveals itself or has a suprise inside. Think chocolate lava cake, checkerboard cake or even roasted chestnuts. But not those three because they've already been claimed. What else can I do? Sweet or savory. Maybe no cakes ar all because a reveal covered in frosting is cheating imho.
Oh and they said it all has to be edible so no baby hidden in a king cake for example |

Could you do stuffed peppers or acorn squash filked with butter and brown sugar and then replace the tops. You’d probably have to cook the tops with the edible portion and then maybe attach with toothpicks.
If you want to be ambitious, you could do chicken cordon bleu. Fruits with peels? pomegranates? Hard boiled eggs? |
