This is an interesting conversation about how to handle children who commit crimes. This is relevant, especially in light of all the bomb threats. |
And the 12yo who was extremely aware the law couldn’t touch him. |
| The differences between the council members with stark. Hats off to Council Natali Fani-Gonzales who said she was not there to romanticize solutions. She does not live in a La La Land and wants data. she told them that they were welcome to come on a ride along with her so they could see the crime firsthand. |

"Council member Kristin Mink said the county should be directing juveniles into programs referred to as “community conferencing,” similar to the kind of restorative justice programs used in schools to redirect students who may have been involved in disputes or violations of codes of conduct" What a complete joke Mink is. |
She's the worst and I really hope someone qualified runs against her when her seat is up for re-election. |
Does she benefit financially in some way from those programs? Look at her funders, too. |

Protecting children must be the main priority here, and all children are innocent by definition.
Why punish them just because they commit so-called “crimes?” |
I’m the OP and rolled my eyes during her turn to speak. She’s a complete joke, especially compared to Dawn Leudke and Natali Family-Gonzales. I can’t be sure, but I think the romanticize line was specifically for Mink who seems to want non-solutions. Just wait until her kids are old enough to actually be impacted by soft on crime policies. Either that or she’ll also stick her kids into private school. I hope it never comes to that and that she’s voted out this next election. |
Yeah OK

| I do not think they are going to change anything. |
| I see Jeff has been here - two pages worth of deleted comments. |
