Would You Get This Car Ticketed/Towed?

For blocking your driveway? Would it matter how long or often this individual parked like this?

I am so very certain the MPD is eager to assist you, citizen.

Arlington County, actually, and they will come out and ticket. It's clearly in violation (can't block any portion of an apron, partially or otherwise). The ticket is $80, I think. They will tow it if it's the third or fourth offense.

This guy does this all the time and I've lost my patience.

Absolutely.

Yes, I would have it ticketed.

I wouldn't call until it had been like that for at least 24 hours. Then, I might.

If I could actually get out, I'd be annoyed but wouldn't call.

Why is he doing this all the time? Is parking tight on the street? When he moves, I’d put a cone up. If it is chronic, I would call or leave a note on the car.

Yes I would.

Have you already raised the issue with the driver? I wouldn’t have anyone towed without trying to resolve the issue in a neighborly way first.

I mean, sure, if you happened to be there while the guy was parking I might say "Hey, Bill, could you nudge up a bit? I don't want my daughter hitting your car as she backs out as youre blocking a part of our driveway."

But, no, I'm not stopping what I'm doing, walking down to his house, knocking on the door, hoping he's there, and then explaining- TO A GROWN MAN- that he can't block anyone's driveway.

Judging from the pic, it's obvious to anyone that he knew he blocked it.

Towing is a little aggressive OP. Yes I would be really annoyed if this were my driveway but you can get in and out really with no problem, unless you're a really $hitty driver in which case you shouldn't be on the road. Now if it happens again heck yes. Also you may want to invest in some cones to set up at the edges of your driveway.

OP here, no, I can't get in and out "with no problem". The street is one way so you can only back out one direction, which requires swinging the car around this asshat that has blocked about two feet of swing space. No way Arlington or my neighbors would let me cone off an area in the street. I also have a 16 year old new driver and I don't want them hitting the car.

It will be 48 hours at noon today. Dude is getting ticketed.

If it were a one off and I could get out I wouldnt call. But since you say this happens often I would definitely call.
