| My DD wants to go there. I have been to Columbus and think it's a great city. How is the school? |
| Think they like football. |
|
Its a big state flagship with minimal distinguishing 9ie haighly ranked) programs.
if you like football and want to stay in Ohio, then it is great. |
| It's a fairly decent school with solid programs and is ranked above all VA and MD public schools with the exception of UVA. |
No it isn’t! Get real! Great band though |
| It is ranked higher than UMD in some areas |
| Has many good programs, but is very big. Some kids would like that and some would not. |
| Correction. It's The Ohio State University. |
Really? Which public schools in VA/MD other than UVA are ranked higher than Ohio? I'll wait. |
According to USNWR it's crushing UMD, 43 to 46.

Their marching band is the reason I am a nut about marching bands. Give yourself a treat and head over to youtube and watch them. My kid went to a competing school and I am so sad that because of covid I didn't get to see them play Ohio State. I don't like football but I would sit through a game to watch them. I've gone to inaugural parades just to see them. |
Wondered how long a post like this would take. |
And rioting after the Michigan game, win or lose. |
| I went there. It is a huge school. You need to be very good at figuring stuff out in your own. It would be good for someone with good/great executive skills who is social and has a lot of team spirit. |

Great post.
My straight A junior who scored 1430 the first time on SAT in Oct Had her sights set on top 20 schools but “open” to our state flagship. She got 2 A-minus grades and needs to drop one of her extra curriculas. She just declared… “I’ll just go to Ohio State…. It’s a good school right?” (I think someone mentioned it or she saw a game or a sweatshirt). Crazy how kids think you need to over achieve yo get. Into a T20. We are going with it though. Anything to take the pressure off.
