| Didn't realize how short the NCAA soccer season is when you don't qualify for your conference tournament and have no chance at an NCAA tournament bid. Many women's teams season ended yesterday. |
| Just like a normal Fall season for HS and travel clubs. |
| Looks like Duke women are done already. I think they were ranked in the top 3 at the beginning of the year. Maryland is done as well. |
| UVa women are also probably done |
| Yeah our HS season, like colleges, starts 2nd to last week in August. Runs until end of October. My son had his last game yesterday. |
Yes. The other thing that is crazy is even big name D1 schools would consider themselves lucky to get in the tournament 1 out of 4 years. |
|
^ Meanwhile FSU has been just about every year and won 3 times.
And looking great this year. Go NOLES |
NCAA tournament selection show is today at 4pm. There were some big wins in the conference tournaments...especially Iowa. |
|
Local teams
Come on Towson! Need an upset against North Carolina. James Madison vs South Carolina Georgetown(home game and another if they win) vs Old Dominion Liberty(kind of local) vs Georgia https://www.ncaa.com/brackets/soccer-women/d1/2023 |
And even if you did qualify for your conference tournament - you likely wont get into the NCAA Tourny. Lots and lots of teams in the top of their conference not going to the NCAA tourny. |
| Many top 25 teams are not in the tourny. Makes no sense. ODU? Come on. |
Why is Maryland women one of the worst teams in college soccer every year yet the men are very good? |
That will change with the new coaching staff coming in. |
Because it does not matter to the school. Seriously college soccer is an after thought. There is no pressure to win. You can have a losing record for 10 years as a coach and you are good to go. Look at the pay at Maryland- Head Coach Women's Soccer at University Of Maryland is between $71,369 and $118,775. |
| Anyone going to the Georgetown games? |
