I typically run in the ghost, but I don't really feel supported with my high arches. I think I need insoles. What do you put in to your running sneakers? Or have you found shoes that support your high arches when you run?

Just go to a running store like RnJ. They are great. |
Work on building foot strength. You really shouldn't need special insoles. |
I use "Fit Feet" 3/4 insoles for plantar fasciitis. They are pretty firm and I replace them regularly as they break down. |
I have high arches and run in the newest Hoka Bondi that I replace frequently.
When I took my new XC runner to a running shop they sold us full sole inserts with the new shoes - they noticed my kid had high arches and said using the inserts prevents injury- and it’s important to get fitted for ones that go w your foot and shoe |
I exclusively wear barefoot-esque shoes- soles must be fully bendable, somewhat thin, and a wide toe box for full foot flexion. I have super high arches and zero foot, ankle, or knee pain ever. Insoles can make high arches worse by acting like a cast and causing the foot muscles to weaken. |
Total BS. my life changed when I got orthotics, and insurance covers a pair every year. Get one for running and one for dress shoes and you will likely find that everything is easier and less painful. The orthopedist told me that the SuperFeet arch support I'd had was too inflexible, and that was why I was getting additional pain. That might not affect everyone, but it's not uncommon. I also wear Hokkas, recommended from The Running Company (I think that's what they're called) in DC. They are great recommenders, but I bet there are other good ones as well. |
Most physical therapists would disagree with putting someone permanently in orthotics. They're fine to get through an acute injury, but someone shouldn't be in them forever. Also, you lose credibility when you point to a brand rather than a specific shoe. Hokas, like any other manufacturer, makes a wide variety of shoes, some of which may be appropriate or inappropriate for a certain use case. |
I need insoles for my Brooks Ghost; without them there feels like zero support. I got these at Fleet Feet:

I moved from the Ghost to the Glyercin and that seemed to work for a bit. More recently, I got a pair of On Cloudgo which I currently really like but they wear down very easily. |
Brooks adrenaline |
ASICS Gel Kayano. No insoles. Tried them once years ago and hated them. |
ASICS Cumulus for 30 years! |
I have high arches and just get neutral cushion shoes, something like the Asics Cumulus or Nimbus. |
