If you have a desk job, how do you get in 10k steps/day? |
Park far away
Circle the offices every 2 hours Add a short walk at lunch and/or in the evening Walk your dog as far as she will agree |
That's easy. Walk to work. Walk during lunch. |
Do you work in an office or WFH? I feel that getting 10k steps in at the office shouldn't be that hard.
WFH is a bit harder. I used to get my steps in easily when I had my dog. Since she's passed, I have to force myself to walk around the neighborhood for breaks. Also, I park farther away when I go to stores. Going to the gym helps me a lot as well. |
I walk after every meal at least 1.5k steps. I also walk every morning with my DH to get my coffee and that’s 4.5k round trip at 6am. Then just randomly moving around, I’m often over. |
To hit 10k steps I need to be very intentional. Walk on the treadmill at the gym after I strength train even if it's only 20 min. Walk after dinner. Get up and walk around my building. |
It takes me 1.5- 2 hours so I don’t.
I walk 30 min in the am and 30 in the pm and don’t worry about some random 10k steps |
I putz around my house a lot and take a walk right after work most days. It’s actually quite easy if you’re intentional about it. You can get a lot of steps in just putzing! |
Its really hard for me unless I'm intentional about it. I'm in CA so it's only 12:40 here. So far I'm at 3233 steps. I took a barre class, then drove to costco, then cleaned my kitchen. During my work calls I'll need to get up and walk around! |
Exercise before/after work.
|
I walk from 7:25 to 8:25am and begin work at 8:30.
I walk again from noon to 1pm, and then eat lunch. I walk again from 5:30-6:30 and then eat dinner. I'm super obese, otherwise people would think walking three hours a day is too much. But because I'm fat people just shrug and think I should walk more. |
I work from home and get in 10k steps a day. I go for a 15-20 minute walk after each meal (on the treadmill after dinner). And I’m chasing my toddler after work. |
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who struggles to get there. I don't have many breaks, but I make it a point to walk about 20-30 minutes during lunch, sometimes while eating. I park at a distance from where I'm going. I go to the first away bathroom from my desk. I can't find many opportunities to add steps. On weekends I'm plenty active and walk and hike. |
Eff people. I’m proud of you! |
WFH
I walk the dog at six a.m. Putter around during the day I take another long walk (2 miles, takes about 30 minutes) right before I make dinner. usually hit between 10-12k a day. |
