4 charged in murder of 18 y/o girl found in shallow grave in Olney, MD

4 people including a 16 year old who will be charged as an adult were just charged with first degree murder of an 18 year old girl found in a shallow grave in Olney, MD.

All major local media outlets are reporting it, but there are no details about the victim.

There’s no coverage about the victim because she was never reported missing because she is likely an unaccompanied immigrant with no relatives here. She was likely a trafficking victim.

Go on the MoCo police social media and notice how many other young Latinas are missing though. So many young girls are disappearing. They are overwhelmingly Latinas being kidnapped and trafficked.

Where is the outrage? Where is the concern?

Will this be the new normal? Crime is on the rise in certain parts of the county (Silver Spring and Gaithersburg/Germantown…), but Olney?

I want a zero tolerance crackdown on gangs and trafficking. Zero tolerance: swift prosecution followed by deportation (when status is an issue). Enough already.

When Mexican or Central American gang violence happens, the people involved are often young, and the violence is often horrific. Machetes, group violence on one, etc. Definitely worth a task force and it goes without saying, we have an immigration "problem" in this country. We may have different ideas on how to solve it, but the problem is there.

This is classic gang behavior. It doesn’t say if the deceased was in the gang or from a rival gang. The area she was buried in is a forested antique country road. Did they all live in Olney or just drive up to bury her in a remote area?

Dp. Pp you are nit picking about this when someone has been murdered? Btw, 18 is barely an adult and you know it! The age of 18 as an adult is very not a definite. You don't suddenly become one at your birthday!

18 is an adult when it’s convenient. 18 is still a child when it’s convenient.

Either way, it’s tragic, but I will say that when you join that life you know that end is a very real possibility.
