CCRM NOVA - PGS Testing Wait

Anonymous
Hi everyone - I am at CCRM Nova. I just received the news that I have 2 blasts sent for PGS testing, and I'll need to wait 3 weeks from now for the results, which will be disclosed during my regroup appointment with the doctor. Their policy is that the Dr need to give you results (instead of have nurse call or notification via portal), and you'll get the results depending on the Dr's availability. 3 weeks seems long, so much anxiety, does anyone have experience on getting the results earlier? Thanks!

I was an unusual situation so my experience may not apply. I was with Dr. Payson in May 2022. I got my regroup on the calendar around the time I was starting my stims; we scheduled it for like a week after my anticipated retrieval date. From there, I had my period around the same time as the regroup and I was able to jump right into monitoring for an unmedicated transfer cycle while we were waiting for the PGT results. The caveat in doing in that was I was prepared to have to cancel if PGT gave no normal embryos or I ovulated before results were available. Since I was going in for monitoring, the RE told me my results in person one at one of the morning monitoring appointments. We had one normal embryo and transferred it the next week. She'll be 8 months old later this week.
Good luck. I hope you get good news soon.

Thanks so much for the reply, really appreciate it! Congrats on your success! It only takes 1 =) I am with Dr. Payson too, he's awesome.

Just a little more about me, not sure if this will help others.
I am AMA with DOR. I started with DF in 2019, had success on my third egg retrieval/2nd FET (had either no normal PGS or 1 normal PGS from each cycle). My child is happy and healthy.
We want a second, so I went back to DF last year, did 4 more retrievals, either ended up with no eggs (empty follicles), or few eggs that either didn't fertilize or grow past day 3. After much research, I decided to give CCRM Nova a try though they were more expensive. Did my first retrieval with CCRM, to my surprise, I had 4 follicles, all had eggs. Out of 3 mature eggs, all 3 fertilized, all 3 made it to blasts though they only biopsied 2 high grades for PGS. Because of my recent track record where what little embryos I had couldn't even get pass day 3, I am extremely nervous, every step we pass is a miracle...

Waiting until the regroup seems ridiculous. I was with Dr Owen at nova and she called with the pgt results. It was a brief call- not a regroup. I would insist that they share the results when they have them, whether that is from the doctor or through the nurse or the portal. (However, it does take a while for the results to come in— I think two weeks or so.)

Same, the company would not send me the results. It took 17 days which was a week longer than the clinic said. Hoping for you. 2 of 3 of mine were abnormal. I got to only 11 weeks and miscarried for the 5th time after being promised IVF would fix my issues. I'm super bitter about all of it.

Thanks everyone for the response and support. My plan is to reach out after 2 weeks and see if they have the results. I understand the nurse might not be able to answer my questions, I can wait for the regroup, but I would just like to know the outcome...

Sorry to hear about your multiple miscarriages, it truly sucks. When I started this journey a few years ago, Drs thought I would be somewhat of a straightforward case. Then I failed multiple IUIs and IVFs, all they said was it's just my old age/bad eggs. DF pretty much gave up on me so that's why I changed clinics (I refused DE). I am thankful DF gave me my first child 2 years ago, but I want to give it one final push before I give up.
Not sure what your next step is, but whatever you decide to do, best of luck!!

I know this is an old thread, but I also had this question about CCRM, so figured I'd chime in. After three recent experiences with getting PGS testing at CCRM and asking repeatedly if I could get the results whenever they came in rather than waiting for a re-group (and having a couple friends with similar experiences), I can confirm that at least for Dr. Owen, you have to wait for your regroup. Unfortunately, they do not call early with the results. It's possible her practice has changed and that someone used to call when the results came in, but they strongly maintained that I needed to schedule a re-group for 3 weeks out and wait until then to get the results. The wait is killer!

Hi, this is the OP. I ended up reaching out to the nurse around the 2 week mark, she was so gracious, and told me my results just came in and informed me how many PGS normal embryos I had. I waited until my re-group at 3 weeks to hear all the details (ex. gender, chromosome abnormalities for the embryo that was abnormal etc). I wish they would always do this - post the results when they receive it - but I guess this would take more time/effort. With DF, my experience has been either the nurse or the doctor would notify me around 2 weeks for PGS results, so I am still not used to the long wait here.
