| Are direct flights from iad to Hilton head gone forever? |
| Is the proper use of the terms 'nonstop' and 'direct' gone forever? |
I refuse to be a puppet of the airline industry's obvious attempt to confuse people. Direct has a meaning; they don't get to redefine it. |
I don't know which way you mean. When I'm searching for flights, I always want to get there in one go, on one plane, without stops - and so, I filter for "nonstop". |
|
Yes, depending on time of year. May-Sept to HHI United out of Dulles or AA out of DCA.
Year round same airlines and airports to SAV. |
The industry has had clear meanings for nonstop and direct flights since the 60s or 70s. The redefining that has taken place is by the passengers who don't know better. |
| while you guys go on a tangent about direct vs non stop for god know what reasons......op no there are no more flights from IAD to the island, DCA direct with American is the only one. |
| Do you mean SAV? |
| DCA nonstop with American is the only one |
Pretty sure OP was referring to HHI. There are a number of flights to SAV from the DC area. The issue is a 55 minute drive vs an 8 minute drive. And the answer is- no, there are currently no nonstops IAD-HHI. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hilton_Head_Airport |
Ugh HHH! |
United may have run this flight in the past seasonally, but right now it is not on their schedule at all. You can confirm on Google Flights. |
| Allegiant has a nonstop from Hagerstown to Myrtle. |
How many direct flights exist anymore? I'd prefer non-stop when traveling, but I remember direct flights as well and those were nice because you could stay on the plane. The last one I was on was decades ago, I figured they were a relic of the past |
Does SW still have them? |
