I just did an 8 week program on FitazFK and I liked that I had a set thing to do 5 days a week; it kept me accountable. But the program itself was a little boring.
Before I sign up for the second level, was curious if anyone else had any recommendations. I need to have something that says this is your workout for today, tomorrow, etc. for a session of 6 - 8 weeks (or whatever.) Maybe beachbody? I have the Peloton app but I would need to create my own challenges or workouts and plan. Not the same accountability. |
Caroline Girvan is terrific for set programs. I only do her free YouTube programs; the app may offer what you want. |
Barre3's online program will do 4 week challenges with some frequency, plus you can always go and do a prior 4 week challenge. They have progress-tracking functions that might help with accountability. The also post new workouts daily and you can schedule them so you get calendar or email reminders, so if you just want to do the latest workout, you pretty much always have a set schedule of daily workouts. They tend to post new stretching or flow yoga workouts on the weekend, and then the strength and cardio workouts during the week. So it's a good mix.
That's the only one I've ever found worth an annual subscription. Other programs are good for a while and then I get board. I like the variety of Barre3's programming and the instructors are good. I've heard great things about the Peloton app but I think it's more expensive -- Barre3 always runs really good deals. |
Another rec for Caroline Girvan. You can look at the calendars for her free youtube programs online and see if it's what you are looking for. |
I looked for good online programs for a long time, but after one workout I didn't want anything else, finally I found a Pilates program and I enjoy the process |
I love the sweat app. It shows you the workouts for the week, and I think all the programs are 12 weeks before you move to the next level. |
I also like Caroline Girvan, but personally find her workouts too weights-heavy. But she has so much great content available on youtube.
My recent fave is Courtney Anderson - also on youtube. Really love her workouts that mix cardio and weights. They're also on the longer side - Caroline's are 30 minutes and Courtney's are closer to 50. If you are okay with paying for a service, I also really like a lot of content on beachbody. In an old life, I also love Jillian Michaels workout series (but that was on dvd, I think!) |
PP here - another great (free) youtube series is Heather Robertson. She's not as intense as either Caroline or Courtney, so a good place to start! |
Get Mom Strong is my favorite - it's the only one I've stuck with. |
Love Sydney Cummings. Works for every level at fitness, so you can go as hard or as slow as you need to, and she is a great motivator. |
