Help - how do you work a toaster oven into a kitchen remodel???

Anonymous

Bonus for photo ideas but looking to redo kitchen. It is medium sized and do to space constraints will probably have sink and dishwasher in the island and a drawer microwave.

I would like a 48in range with dual ovens which takes up a lot of space, counter depth fridge - but not sure what is out there for toaster ovens? Just stick it on the counter in an appliance garage? I thought that I heard there is a new trend to have convection/toaster ovens?

Help.

Just keep counterspace for it. No one does a built in toaster oven.

Ours sits on the counter next to the coffeemaker. Appliance garages are passé.

I would not do a 48” range in a medium sized kitchen, myself. That seems disproportionate especially if you are otherwise limited on counter space.

I'm struck by these two. The range will be way too big for the kitchen and the fridge way too small. Have you used a counter depth fridge before? They can barely hold anything!

Speed oven. Combo microwave and small convection oven

I need two full size ovens. The other option is double oven stacked and a range, but that seems like even more space wasted.

They may be passé but they are great at their purpose: helping keep your kitchen orderly and reserving counter space for food prep. In the event that you divest of all your small appliances, that space can easily be repurposed.

Wait, appliance garages are passe? Or like, not strictly necessary? Or do you mean the avante guard kitchen has a butler’s pantry?

Appliance garages look very dated. People rip them out when renovating. Nobody is putting them in now.

This is so remotely not true. Yes the 70s era ones (yep had them back then too) with the roller doors get ripped out and REDONE. But if you don't have some sort of butler pantry or walk in pantry most definitely have an appliance "garage" -- especially if you really need a toaster oven? I have to say I have never owned one or thought I needed one!

Agree with the others that your range is too big and your fridge is too small.

Agree on the fridge.

How do you all solve the two oven requirement?

Sorry, having coffee makers out is ick. Appliance garage solves this.

No, the other option is two stacked wall ovens and a cooktop, with drawers under the cooktop. Range = cooktop and oven in one unit.

Agree that a 48” range will look hulking in a small kitchen.

We have a small pantry with countertop and drawers underneath, shelving on top. Toaster oven and other appliances live on that counterspace. It is great.

It is a medium sized kitchen and not a small one according to OP.

You lose counter space when you double oven and a range, but gain drawers.
