We are looking to transfer to a new school for 6th grade, and I want to ensure the following school is compatible with our values. We are trying to avoid the anti-woke crowd as much as possible. I have nothing against people who don't like books or diversity, but it's just not something that we want to be around. I am a firm believer in the paradox of tolerance, and perfectly happy not dealing with people who have issues with liberals.
Of course, we are just applying and not entitled to get in, but we are looking at Holton, WIS, NCS, Potomac, Maret, and Sidwell. We are also open to other suggestions. If anyone has any input I would really appreciate it. |
Gds. bullis, maybe stone ridge. |
Forgot to add I’d take Potomac off the list. SR would be a big maybe, as would any other catholic school. |
I didn't l know about Potomac. |
Yep. Those people. |
GDS fits what you're looking for |
That's on the top of my list. We will see. |
NCS offers a course on banned books. |
It’s easy to find what you want as that’s the norm in NW DC. You would have to work hard to find what you wish to avoid….
Personally, I like a more traditional approach and options are limited! Super liberal: Sheridan, Maret, GDS, SFS International schools are a totally different ball of wax. Many parents are from different countries and they aren’t part of our national polarization. Probably not for you if you want only a particular American tribe. Some schools are mixed. You will figure it out pretty easily! |
Definitely GDS. All kinds of paradoxes there. |
What do you know any the Field School? |
Thank you everyone!
This was helpful. |
Current Potomac parent here. I would NOT take it off your list. It would fit what you are looking for. |
St Stephen’s St Agnes should be on your list |
The school would be really convenient for us. We will take a look and apply. I hope you're right. |
