Book banning and other issues

We are trying to avoid the anti-woke crowd as much as possible. I have nothing against people who don't like books or diversity, but it's just not something that we want to be around. I am a firm believer in the paradox of tolerance, and perfectly happy not dealing with people who have issues with liberals.

Of course, we are just applying and not entitled to get in, but we are looking at Holton, WIS, NCS, Potomac, Maret, and Sidwell. We are also open to other suggestions. If anyone has any input I would really appreciate it.

There is no anti woke crowd in DC area public or private schools.

And all of the books for required class reading or on display in the schools’ libraries are all new, feature diverse characters, and overcoming perceived victimhood plot lines. That was all revamped many years ago, no worries.

You're going to be so sad no matter where you are. Unfortunately you and your child will have to interact with people who aren't as super woke as you at any school. Non. group. thinkers. are. everywhere.

If you’re willing to consider a k-8 for the middle school years check out Green Acres. They actually had a banned book shelf in the library.

So those of us who don’t want to tell our kids it’s ok to change genders at age 7 are “not nice”? Ok got it.

You do know the "woke" ban books all the time? They just do it unofficially by removing it from curriculums and libraries.

And some of the gender ideology books that have people upset are certainly... controversial enough that even more than a few woke people said wait, hold on, when they actually looked at the books.

Good luck with your search.
