Do you buy your middle schooler Aviator Nation clothes?

I had not even heard of this brand until recently, but DD keeps asking for it. It's very expensive.

Since she asked, and I started paying attention, it does seem like a lot of kids are wearing AN gear. Am I a cheapskate if I don't want to spend big bucks on this stuff?

My child loves aviator! You can catch it on sale sometimes, during labor day they have the best sale. I myself have a few sets and its very comfy.

My kid loves this stuff and considers my refusals to buy it to be one of my largest failings as a parent. (Yay me!) She's a late bloomer and still growing like a weed. I don't see the point in buying incredibly expensive sweatpants for a kid who will outgrow them. She buys her own Lululemon shorts after I contribute the $40 I consider to be reasonable for a shorts.

I do find that the girls who wear the most AN are about the size of their moms or older sisters, so maybe there's a hand me down/economy of scale there?

No, it means you are well-adjusted and not a weak-minded status-chaser/purchaser.

Do you live in Bethesda where people care about having rich parents more than anything else?

I bought her a hoodie on eBay for about 30% of retail

$40 for one pair of shorts? You are way more generous than I am.
I have a tween and she wants all Nike or Adidas

Never heard of it. My kid is in 6th. Just looked at the website. Absolutely not!! Those prices are ridiculous.

I have an acquaintance who dresses her 4 and 7 year olds in this stuff. Insane. (I laughed at the comment above because they live in Bethesda.)

I have younger kids but I know a couple of kids in my neighborhood specifically offer to babysit or pick up mail/takeout trash so they can earn money to buy Aviator Nation and Lululemon. Typically they just have a few pieces because it takes a long time to earn the money.

I just looked them up. $156 for a pair of sweatpants. Got me thinking…maybe the couple in the other thread who showed up to the dinner party wearing “sweats” had Aviator Nation gear on and are now mortally offended that their hosts did not appreciate their efforts.

Never heard of it, but I’m in flyover country so we’re probably a little behind.

Maybe I’ll get myself some and then when it gets popular at school my kids won’t want it because I will have made it uncool.
