CogAt Testing Delayed

Received this message from our ES:

CogAt Testing, for 2nd grade students and select 3-6 grade students, originally scheduled to take place this week has been cancelled.

Riverside Insights, the publisher of CogAT, recently became aware of an issue that affected CogAT administration. Under their guidance we must cancel CogAT testing until Monday, 10/16. CogAT testing for the division will resume once a resolution has been deployed by Riverside and they have confirmed that students may resume testing.

Your child will be rescheduled to take this assessment sometime within the next 4 weeks; FCPS is working diligently to identify and detail any impacts this cancellation will have on the timeline for score reporting. As with any assessment, please bear in mind that the CogAT is a single data point used within the holistic advanced academics screening process. No data points in the screening portfolio, including an ability test score, has a minimum required score or a weighted consideration in matching students to available AAP services.

Thanks for sharing. My daughter had 1 day of the cogat last week and was wondering why she didn't have day 2 on Friday.

Interesting. I wonder what happened? Probably never know.

FWIW, my DS was virtual for 2nd grade and never took the Cogat. Still was accepted into AAP, even with a mediocre NNAT.

They company had the issue. You'd have to call the owners of the software company.

We received this message today. They'll have it after the 16th. Not sure what they could have messed up with a computerized test, but let's maybe drop this company.

Absolutely no clue on this but Riverside website has a posting from today saying they launched new cogat.com portal so maybe trouble with the launch. If that is what happened, their IT not having a good day/night.
