Is the DMV the only area where college is still popular?
I seen most parents are no longer telling kids to go to college and they are okay with them taking a GAP year and then going to a trade school. or just enjoying life since you had them you're suppose to support them for the rest of their life... so |
| That’s some BS right there. |
| Well, where only a select few colleges are popular |

| In the comments section it feels like everyone agrees with him. |
| New England |
| News flash: University is only for rich people now, film at 11. Trade schools are colleges. |
| Yes, the rest of the world has just stopped talking about going to college. Colleges only have students from this area now. Sad. |
Just the ones DCUM suitable. There are hundreds of 4 year accredited schools around the country with COA under $20k/yr. |
| My father, a retired college professor, said something similar the other day. He said he didn't see the need for college anymore. My parents prioritized education over just about everything else, so his comment caught me off-guard. |
new england is more educated than the dc area if you adjust for income i.e. poorer people in new england are more erudite than poorer people in dc dc just seems educated because it has high median ses |
| Op, we are sorry you are uneducated |
| Obviously not. |
|
Yes, OP, you are entirely correct. Only on DCUM do parents ever stress out about college. Nobody else cares. Nobody else is attending, based on your social media. Which of course is the only truth that matters. So go ahead and discount college altogether. It's not for you, or your kids. Think of the money saved! |
