For Fellow Asians: What are the Popular Schools You've Seen Kids Looking at?

Just curious what you have seen with your children and their other Asian friends. And I'm not talking about the consistent Asian dream schools (Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Duke, Caltech, Penn, Yale), but schools that are perhaps less obvious. In my daughter's friend group I've been seeing a surprising level of interest in Georgia Tech for example.

Case Western, Berkeley and Michigan are big with my DD’s friend group this year.

UCs, University of Washington, Emory, Purdue, UIUC, NYU, Northeastern, UT Austin, just some of the few.

Definitely UCs, as well as Columbia, CWRU, Tufts, and NYU

The same top schools all Asians want to go to. Anyone who has to look at a different group isn’t going to be talking about that openly.

Do a YouTube search for college decision reactions. Lots of Asian kids on there, you'll find information you need.

Unless you are in star for UCs, there is going to be a lot of disappointed kids.

As a South Asian, I see a lot of excitement and respect for your “dream school” list of Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Duke, Caltech, Penn, and Yale, but I’d also add Columbia feels at the same level amongst other South Asians we know.
