Just a million in McLean

A house in my neighborhood just went for sale.

Livable but on a busy street near a busier street.

Ugh raised ranch no thanks!

I like it but wouldn't live in Virginia. I have a Victorian and it is not made for modern living.

It’s ok. Not bad for the price despite being small. Weird that they wouldn’t paint those kitchen cabinets.

Hideous kitchen cabinets.

Not a raised ranch, but an equally loved split foyer.

Might be nice, but the photos of the messy house give me a headache.

$1 million is hard to come by now in McLean but 1200 sq ft is tight.

There’s no garage? What’s the sound like outside—rush of cars constantly driving by? The yard needs a lot of work. I agree with pp that the blue cabinets could have been painted white. There’s a lot of remodeling that needs done. It’s in a good school pyramid. And, it is challenging to find a house at $1mil. Why aren’t builders swooping in to buy this one? Is the location that poor by busy streets?

Where are the third and fourth bedrooms? Looks like the master and home gym are on the ground level, and the bedroom/office is on the main level. But why no pictures of the other two bedrooms? I think it's a good use of a small space, but assume the bedrooms are really tight and the master is in the bedroom because the actual bedrooms are too small for a family.

It's near or on a terrible intersection. Also too close to ST. John's church and school (parking and overflow issues) and a school.

NP. I live close to this house - drive by it many times a week. The street directly in front of the house is busy, but the real noise is likely to come from Old Dominion where cars and trucks are traveling by at higher speeds. W

Ironically, there is a small enclave of 8 or 9 new $3-4M homes built right where the top of Linway meets with Old Dominion, and I've walked our dog through there a few times and wondered how someone paying that much for their home could stomach the noise coming from Old Dominion.

Different strokes I guess. I do really like the built in porch on this home, but not much else.

PP here. There are literally zero parking or overflow issues related to St John's FWIW. They have a huge parking lot in the back. Even during drop off and pick up times the congestion is contained on the church property... and no my kids don't go there, we just live one street north of the church and school
