Have swim teams been able to get anywhere with Loudoun County on fixing the air quality? It is effecting a lot of kids and Loudoun seems to always have an excuse…. |
Claude Moore is always the worst, the summer LC champs meet this past summer was terrible. We are going there for the October Open and the kids are already like Claude Moore sucks, I wish we were going to another site. |
Don't a number of swimmers swim at other pools (most that are very far away) because that pool is so bad.
|
No one at Loudoun County will do anything about fixing this because of cost.... |
The problem is also that they do not train their staff well enough to take care of the pool properly.... |
Ah, so this is why my kid hates those meets. |
It was better than it was for the summer LC champs, but my kid is glad that is the last meet they will swim at CM until summer LC champs roll around again. |
bump. any update on this? |
The efforts have been ongoing but no improvements. At this point, nothing will be done as the fixes needed are too big and expensive. Luckily the new rec center should open next fall. |
Can’t be worse than Audrey Moore?? |
where will the new rec center be? |
Major renovations are often required to truly improve the air quality of an indoor pool. It’s usually due to an older ventilation system. The county would have to put a ton of money into the project and close the facility for months. |
Been to both pools and they feel the same. The worse pool is Franconia (formerly known as Lee). It should be criminal to hold meets there. It feels like chemical warfare in there. The deck is just chlorine gas and kids cannot breathe. They send them outside to get air. |
so is this a big enough health reason not to have my child swim at this pool? if we commit, DC would be there 6 hours a week training. |
I think the real question is are there any pools with decent air quality?
We don’t swim at any of those pools, but a couple of others and everyone is always complaining about the air quality there as well. |
