Someone Else's Life - spoilers please!

I hate this book so much. But I made it halfway through and just want to find out what the hell happened. I've looked online for spoilers and can't find any. Anyone read this book and can just tell me what happened?

I dunno. When you hate a book so much that you write a post and spend your time looking to find out what happened? Seems like the writer got a passionate response from you. Almost better than finishing and giving it a “meh” rating. (I haven’t heard it but so find it interesting to reflect on why I hate certain books so much.)

I was curious and looked it up on Amazon. It has pretty mediocre reviews.

I HATED THIS BOOK.

The shoes have diamonds in them. The husband bought the wife all the shoes (which were fake) but smuggled diamonds in the heels. That’s why she needs to give the shoes back.

She doesn’t keep the diamonds or the shoes. She gives them back but tipped off the cops (so it’s assumed that husband gets caught).

Yes. The heel I mean.

The woman didn’t know that, she just wanted the shoes back.

Then the husband wouldn’t give her a divorce (?) or money (?) so she was trapped as a maid until she tracked down the shoes and got them back. She didn’t know why he wanted the shoes back so badly until the heel broke off and diamonds spilled out.
