The woman didn’t know that, she just wanted the shoes back. Then the husband wouldn’t give her a divorce (?) or money (?) so she was trapped as a maid until she tracked down the shoes and got them back. She didn’t know why he wanted the shoes back so badly until the heel broke off and diamonds spilled out.[/quote]
