BCC Homecoming dance - what to wear?

Anonymous
Can anyone give me a sense of how formal the BCC homecoming dance is? Do boys wear a suit and tie? I have no idea what the dress code is!

It does not matter. No one cares. You will see a range of outfits. Enjoy!

This.

I’ve had kids at two different HS and between DH and I taught at two more. Homecoming is just about having fun. Some kids won’t really dress up at all. Some will go all out. I’ve know girls to do Rent the Runway. But I’ve also boys in khakis and a collared shirt.

Based upon what I've seen - buy something that looks like lingerie and barely covers your a$$.

My DS attended last night in a coat and tie.

At pickup I was amazed that 99% of the girls I saw out walking were dressed in less than streetwalkers I have seen near Times Square. Glad I have no daughters.

Don't high schools have dress codes any more? (Yes, I am old.)

My DD does 2 club sports, has always been on honor roll, works PT and volunteers. She and her friends wear clothes that make them feel beautiful and fashionable (yeahh - bare-ly there is in fashion) and she and they don’t really care what you think.

Clearly, because nowadays Times Square is wall-to-wall tourists in shorts and t-shirts.

I agree that they are dressing like hookers.

The only things in Times Square now are tourists and weird fake Elmo characters.

There are no dress codes. I hate how my daughter dresses (for homecoming she has a nice dress but in general). Last week a female security guard at her HS told DD to cover her butt (the shorts were very short) but they have no way to enforce. They all wear tank tops to school.

I have a son and a daughter and hate it also. Wish there was some enforcement of basic dress code things - no tanks (for boys or girls), shorts at a certain length, etc.
