How bad was your egg retrieval recovery?

Is it really painful? When do you feel back to normal?

It was nothing. There was no recovery to speak of.

+1 attended a work dinner that evening.

It was not painful, but the 1st time I had nausea and vomiting from the anesthesia.
The 2nd collection they gave me Zofran (anti-nausea medication) in my IV and that resolved the issue.
I actually rode a bike to my 2nd egg collection (Europe) and walked it back to the hotel afterwards.
Both times it was emotional. A lot goes into the process. It feels big because it is.
The hormones really crash in the days afterwards. I had a lot of bloating, PMS, and a heavy period.
You can do this! Best wishes.

I rested for a few days and was tender, swollen. After one of them I developed hyper stimulation syndrome where you become incredibly and painfully bloated. If that happens call into your clinic and let them know. My doctor altered my meds for the following cycle.

It was nothing in my case.

I had abdominal retrievals after the first time so I took the day off work but I was fine the next day.

Had mine in the morning and was symptom free by evening, except for spotting. I worked from home in the afternoon (although I knew work was going to be incredibly slow).

Its easy but you shouldn't be driving. They give you pain meds but for both times I did not need them.

This can be heavily dependent on the number of eggs retrieved.
I had 22 eggs retrieved. I didn't really have any pain afterwards but was a little bloated. My retrieval was early afternoon, and I went back to work the next day. No real issues once the anesthesia wore off.
I was at risk of OHSS. My RE had concerns about that ahead of time, because my E2 level prior to retrieval was so high. He had me switch to a Lupron trigger to try to avoid it.

Felt totally fine afterward, just tired.

A little sore the next day but I went to work was was okay.

I think the procedure itself isn't a big deal but if you've had a bad reaction to anesthesia before you might have a harder time...some people get headaches, constipation and other side effects. I mostly felt bloated - not that bad, and by the next day felt better.

Zero recovery. I didn't even get sedated.

F%cking awful. But I had 28 eggs and considered high risk for OHSS. I was still working but it sucked.

They put me under and I had to have friends bring me to/pick me up from the facility. No pain; was quite glad to get it over with and end the bloating/shots. I stayed with a friend for the rest of the day per my doctor to make sure I had no potential complications and felt fine - just emotionally/physically tired (and it was hard to wait for the call to get my results). I took 2 days off work (had the retrieval on a Thursday) and was fine to go back to work on Monday.
