| I’ve had friends who lose careers were harmed by public knowledge of affairs but mostly in military or high profile public sector. Do you know anyone whose career or professional retraction has suffered due to infidelity? |
| was this a teaser for the Kristi Noem news? lol. |
what's the news? |
enjoy! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12509093/Kristin-Noem-Corey-Lewandowski-secret-affair.html |
| Good for men bad for women, as you’d expect. |
| Yes, especially if both spouses and the sidepiece all work in the same building lol. I remember this from my baby contractor days. Husband and wife met at work, had child. Husband was the supervisor of the wife's affair partner; affair started after husband hired and mentored affair partner and invited him to a holiday dinner because he had no family locally. The wife worked in a different office, but same client. Word got around to wife's supervisor and he blackballed her from promotion, while the sidepiece got terminated. They're divorced now. Wife was moved to a different office, still hasn't been promoted and still sleeping with the staff. Husband remarried and seems to be doing very well. |
| It's not 1992 anymore. |
This is what I think too. I feel like the old boys club laughs about it and uses it as a bonding thing. The woman just gets ostracized. |
Wait, wasn’t there this exact same rumor a while ago that was vigorously denied? |
Correct. Compare what happened to David Petraus vs his paramour |
|
Military people are all aware that there are rules against this.
It is one of their honor violations. That job is unique. |
I don’t think that hurts her reputation with this particular employer. |
|
It depends on the sector, and on the details of the workplace affair.
Superior/subordinate is going to hurt in a lot of fields. Big age difference even without a direct line of authority also hurts. The professional damage for men is worse in female-dominated professions, and in professions where people are enmeshed in each others' lives. |
| I think it would only matter if people had the same employer otherwise no one is going to care. Even in that case there's often other issues (i.e. supervisor/employee relationship). |
LOL. If she upset by the timing because it's politically motivated, she should have broke it years ago. Seriously, they can never talk about family values again. |
